- The tree has a dbh of 33 cm (2016 measurements). Tree health was assessed in 2016 and assessment indicated that the tree was cankered by the butternut canker pathogen (Ophiostoma-clavigignenti-juglandacearum). At the time of collection, the tree is still cankered with similar crown health. This tree has been genotyped using DNA microsatellite and cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence markers (Hoban et al 2008, McCleary et al 2009) and confirmed to be pure butternut.
