- Map: 21 N16 Wild Goose Lake. Assc. Sp.: Carex aquatilis, Myrica gale, Carex canescens. TAXON: specific ID should be verified; difficult to determine given the strong similarities and variability of both ssp.; spikelets to >4mm in length; leaves flat, strongly scabrous-puberulent on the adaxial surface, with abaxial surfaces mainly smooth with scabrous areas limited to leaf bases and apices; ligules erose at summit; stigmas easily found but no anthers observed; callus hairs (1.5-2.5mm); few anthers present, but at least some containing pollen.
