Data Remarks
The tree is multi stem (2) with dbh of 23.1 and 36.3 cm (2017 measurements). Tree health was assessed in 2017 and assessment indicates that the tree is minimally cankered by the butternut canker pathogen (Ophiostoma-clavigignenti-juglandacearum). Although cankered, tree crown is still very healthy with minimal desiccation and was producing a few nuts at time of voucher collection. This tree has been genotyped using DNA microsatellite and cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence markers (Hoban et al 2008, McCleary et al 2009) and confirmed to be pure butternut. See pics for more information. Tree ID for this tree in our butternut database is 20140052. NAD83 datum pictures available on file at CMH
